“Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. ”
― H. L. Mencken
I will try not to be misunderstood, but afflicting the human race with ideas is a risky business, so no promises can be made.
A Pejmanesque Chrestomathy is a newsletter/blog/collection of musings/random words designed and arranged to form thoughts regarding law, domestic politics, international affairs, philosophy, current events, and just about anything else that might catch the fancy of its author. It is written from a right-of-center libertarian/pragmatist perspective, but one that strives (from time to time) to eschew partisanship and ideological blinders. Bernard Mandeville wrote that, “Private Vices by the dextrous Management of a skilful Politician may be turned into Publick Benefits.” This little publication‘s chief aim is to help encourage the existence and emergence of more “skilful Politician[s],” and thus encourage more “dextrous Management,” in addition to helping bring about other forms of “Publick Benefits.”
